Lower the bacteria level and save millions of liters of water every year
Today’s treatment plants effectively clean the incoming greywater from waste and organic material. However, after the water has passed the final biofilter, it still contains large amounts of bacteria and other harmful microorganisms. With Anolytech’s environmentally friendly and EU-approved system, microorganisms are effectively killed with our unique disinfection solution AnoDes, which is added to the water. AnoDes lowers the bacteria level so much that the outgoing water can be reused – and millions of liters of water can be saved every year.
With the sights set on Agenda 2030
Today, the global goals in Agenda 2030 place high demands on all functions of society to save water through reduced consumption and increased reuse. A treatment plant has great opportunities to contribute to this work by disinfecting the water before it is discharged or reused.
Anolytech offers an EU-approved disinfection system that effectively kills harmful microorganisms through an environmentally friendly circular process that reduces the use of dangerous chemicals and transport – and above all saves huge amounts of water.
Powerful bactericidal effect
AnoDes already kills bacteria, viruses, spores, mold and fungi in small doses, as well as removes and prevents the growth of biofilm in water systems.
Among other things, AnoDes attacks proteins in the microorganism’s cell membrane and destroys them so that the cell ruptures and dies. Thanks to the direct mechanism of action, it does not matter if the bacteria are resistant or multi-resistant to antibiotics.
Locally produced and environmentally friendly
AnoDes is made from only water, salt and electricity and
the result is a unique pH-optimized hypochlorous acid with a powerful bactericidal effect.
Manufacturing takes place on site in the treatment plant in a facility that is connected to the outgoing water. Since AnoDes does not contain any dangerous chemicals, the disinfection solution is both environmentally friendly and harmless to humans and animals.
Reduced bacteria level saves water
Anolytech’s facility is connected as a final step in the plant’s purification process after waste and organic material have been filtered out. By continuously dosing AnoDes in the treatment plant’s outgoing water, the bacteria content can be radically reduced to a level corresponding to serviceable bathing water and released into the sea. The outgoing water can also be reused as technical water for internal processes or sold on.
Anolytech’s system allows the municipality to reuse gray water in several different ways and reduce the consumption of water by millions of liters every year.
Difficult and expensive to fix
It does not matter if the property’s water system is new or old, Legionella bacteria can still find their way into both cold and hot water pipes. And even if the water is heated to over 70 degrees in the water heater/VVC, the water system may still contain Legionella.
Flushing the system with hot water is also not sufficient as the flushing does not address bacteria in the system’s endpoints, such as shower hoses, shower heads and faucets. If the water system also has problems with biofilm, this means that the bacteria can get a hold of the biofilm where they multiply and spread to the surrounding water.
Sustainable circular process
Traditional disinfection is often a linear process where environmentally hazardous and harmful disinfectants are transported, used and give rise to residual products that must be taken care of.
Anolytech’s system is a sustainable circular process without dangerous residual products. After disinfection, AnoDes returns to its natural constituents and the harmless residual products can follow the water into the sea or further when recycling the water.
Improves the working environment
Since AnoDes does not contain any dangerous chemical substances, the staff at the treatment plant does not have to handle harmful chemicals that require protective clothing and a protective mask.
Anolytech’s system also improves the working environment for those who come into contact with the recycled technical water. Buyer of the water, or other municipal operations that use technical water for eg high-pressure washing or irrigation, there is no risk of being exposed to water-borne bacteria or other infectious agents.
Since no dangerous chemicals are used, the transport of dangerous goods is also reduced, as is the amount of packaging that needs to be taken care of.
Simple installation and low operating costs
The production plant consists of a control unit, a salt container and a mixing module. The plant is easy to install and has low energy consumption and low salt costs. Disinfection is done automatically, with the exception of refilling with salt, which is delivered in sacks.
The facility can either be rented or purchased by Anolytech. Both situations require a service agreement with Anolytech so that the correct function and end product can be guaranteed.
Strong research support
There is strong research support for the use of “electrolyzed” water to kill bacteria and other harmful microorganisms.
Among other things, it has been shown to be effective against most common bacterial pathogens such as Legionella, salmonella, e.coli, listeria, vibrio, staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, spore-forming bacteria and viruses (including norovirus) and fungi.
- Anolytech's system is a sustainable circular process without harmful chemicals.
- The bactericidal effect of concentrated AnoDes is 200 times higher than that of chlorine.
- Using Anolytech's system contributes to several of the global goals in Agenda 2030.
- AnoDes is harmless to both humans and nature.
- When AnoDes is consumed, it reverts to its components, which consist of 99.95% water and 0.05% biodegradable substances.
