Germ-free water saves lives and strengthens communities

In many parts of the world, access to germ-free water is far from an established fact. Many diseases are spread through drinking water, causing enormous human suffering and in some cases death. The spread of infection via drinking water also affects livestock and agriculture and hampers food production. Bacteria-free water is a fundamental prerequisite for societies to be able to counteract ill health, support themselves, develop and escape possible poverty.

Creating Shared Value (CSV)

In recent years, Corporate Social Responsibility (which often involves a unilateral giving of money to various charitable causes), has been replaced within many companies with Creating Shared Value, which means that the business model itself contains a dimension of doing good in the market in which the company operates.

 

For Anolytech, it is about creating collaborations where we can spread our knowledge about environmentally friendly disinfection and sell our disinfection system, and thus contribute to reduced spread of infection, good health and increased prosperity. It is not only about delivering new machines, but we also see opportunities in delivering used machines that have undergone functional control, and which can be offered at a lower price.

 

Our CSV work is still in its infancy, but we hope to be able to establish contacts with organizations and partners that operate in countries where the need for bacteria-free water is great in the future. In the production of AnoDes, resource efficiency is improved by the fact that the system does not require as much resources – and costs – for water and energy, as the production of traditional disinfection solutions. The system also streamlines water use for industries, property owners and businesses that today use billions of liters of fully serviceable water to flush clean pipes and pipes in the event of bacterial attacks (often without the desired result). By continuously supplying AnoDes in the water pipes, bacteria are killed preventively and the pipes do not need to be flushed for this purpose. Since Anolytech’s system does not use any hazardous chemicals and therefore does not generate any hazardous waste, the system also helps to break the link between economic growth and environmental degradation.

Since Anolytech’s system works preventively against bacterial growth, the need to flush clean water pipes is reduced, while the system enables a higher degree of water recovery.
