Swedish hatching egg producer Valla Rusthåll had problems with biofilm in the water pipes. Anolytech’s environmentally friendly system for disinfection of water without harmful chemicals solved the problems.
At Valla Rusthåll in Väderstad on the Swedish Östgöta plain, Alexander Gideskog produces breeding eggs that are developed into broilers. The poultry of the farm’s operations was added in 1996, when Alexander’s father Bengt decided to become a hatchery producer and built the first two houses with room for 35,000 animals.
Poultry are sensitive. Many factors affect both the production and profitability of a hatching egg producer who handles both roosters and chickens.
– Our payment is based on the number of hatched chickens, so it’s important to have many hatched eggs per hen. The goal is a hatching of 82-83 percent of delivered eggs.
Wrong quality of a single factor can lower the hatching percentage by a few percent and thus jeopardize profitability. Not least, the quality of the water is an important factor.
Clean water provides steerer production
In connection with the investment in 1997 in a third house with poultry, tje Gideskog family installed Anolytech’s environmentally friendly system for disinfecting water.
– We have seen fluctuations in the hatching percentage over the years and continuously worked to optimize all parts of production. One of the problems we eliminated together with Anolytech is the biofilm that was previously formed in the water pipes.
Previously, it was handled with point interventions using harmful chemicals, but Alexander thinks that it works much better with Anolytech’s system that continuously disinfects the water without the use of environmentally unfriendly chemistry.
– We avoid handling harmful chemicals and can keep the disinfection at an even level, in the same way as we want to keep the hatching percentage constant.
Certification builds trustworthiness
As Anolytech started back in 2005, there were many sceptical voices regarding it’s sustainable method for disinfecting water without using harmful chemicals. 16 years later, a commonly increased environmental awareness is paving the way for a game changing shift towards disinfection based on Anolytech’s sustainable solution instead of using traditional chemicals.
AnoDes is used within different areas where fighting unwanted bacteria like Campylobacter, Cyanobacteria, Escherichia coli and Legionella pneumophila is needed. One important reason is that it’s very effective without being harmful to animals and humans.
The fact that Anolytech’s technique has been certified according to leading standards regarding hand and surface disinfection, contributes to the increased demand from clients in new markets and segments.
