Now Our Disinfection Meets Yet Another EN Standard!

Throughout the year, we have conducted several tests on our disinfection. Anolytech’s disinfection, Anolyt-pH, meets the requirements of six European standards for disinfection in healthcare, medical, food, industrial, household, and institutional areas. Our latest test meets the requirements of the European standard EN 14476. This was an important test to conduct and pass because it proves that Anolyt-pH kills viruses, including the coronavirus family.

About EN Standard 14476

The EN Standard 14476 for chemical disinfectants and antiseptics is a quantitative suspension test for evaluating virucidal activity in the medical field. The tests were conducted on several viruses, including the coronavirus family. The test was conducted with very good results. The Swedish standard is called: SVENSK STANDARD · SS-EN 14476:2013, and you can read more about the EN standard on the Swedish Institute for Standards website.

Anolyt-pH and the Coronavirus Family

Hypochlorous acid is an endogenous substance in all mammals and is effective against a wide spectrum of microorganisms. Several studies highlight the effectiveness of hypochlorous acid in combating viruses, such as the coronavirus. Upon contact with the virus, hypochlorous acid penetrates the microorganism’s cell membrane and disrupts the cell’s ability to survive or reproduce. Currently, the US Environmental Protection Agency has recommended many disinfectants against COVID-19, including hypochlorous acid. Source*

The University Medical Center Greifswald, Institute for Hygiene and Environmental Medicine in Germany has conducted its own tests for killing coronavirus with various disinfectants, including hypochlorous acid. Their tests also show that hypochlorous acid is effective in combating the virus.

The Australian government issued recommendations this spring for disinfecting COVID-19 in various environments. Hypochlorous acid is one of the disinfectants included in the Australian government’s recommendation. Source*

Anolytech’s Disinfectants

Anolytech’s machines produce hypochlorous acid, which we call Anolyt-pH. The water-based product contains no harmful chemicals, dyes, or alcohol. The product is biodegradable and very gentle on humans and the environment. Anolyt-pH is environmentally friendly, safe, and completely non-toxic.

Anolytech’s disinfection technology can be used in various ways across many areas and industries. It can also be tailored to specific problems and different processes. The use can be divided into four main areas:

Bacteria-Free Water with Anolytech’s System

With a consistent and safe supply of disinfection in the water, the risk of spreading bacteriological contamination in drinking water, baths & showers, kitchens, restaurants, etc., is eliminated. When Anolyt-pH is added to the water, it becomes free of harmful bacteria, viruses, spores, and fungi, and the water system becomes free from biofilm. Anolytech’s system prevents bacteria in incoming water as well as bacteria from external sources establishing themselves in the water system.

Anolytech’s Bottled Disinfection
Anolytech’s hand and surface disinfection is effective and kills bacteria, viruses, mold, spores, and fungi. The water-based product contains no harmful chemicals, dyes, or alcohol. The disinfectant meets several EN standards.

Disinfection by Dry Fog
Anolytech Disinfection System™ can be used for disinfection by dry fog and is approved according to EN standard 17272 for mechanical automated airborne room disinfection. The dry fog kills bacteria, viruses, mold, spores, and fungi. The water-based product contains no harmful chemicals, dyes, or alcohol.

Circular Process with On-Site Production of Disinfection
With Anolytech’s machine on-site, a circular process can be created, eliminating the need for hazardous transport and waste. Businesses and essential societal functions secure their access to disinfection and become independent of suppliers. It is also a more environmentally friendly option and supports a sustainable future.

Tested and Approved

Anolytech is registered on the Article 95 list (Biocidal Products Regulation) in PT 1-5: Human hygiene, surface disinfection, veterinary hygiene, surfaces in contact with food and feed, and drinking water. Anolytech’s product Anolyt-pH meets, in addition to the new EN standard EN 14476, the European standards for disinfectants: EN 13624, EN 13697, EN 13610, EN 17272, and EN 13727.
