In Piteå, after initiating regular water quality testing, Lindbäcks Fastigheter discovered that one of their properties had excessively high levels of Legionella. Consequently, the company quickly sought an effective solution to address the problem.
Lindbäcks Fastigheter AB, part of Lindbäcks Group, is a company with a broad portfolio of both properties and premises primarily located in Piteå. The company faced challenges in ensuring water quality in one of its properties after discovering too high levels of Legionella bacteria.
After implementing regular testing of the water quality, they found too high levels of Legionella in one of their properties and wanted to quickly find a solution. They began by reviewing the hot water temperature in each building.
Several measures were taken without desired result
The property, consisting of four buildings, struggled with outdated district heating substations, complicating the control of hot water temperature. It was suspected that this issue might be the cause. Hans Lindbäck, CEO of Lindbäcks Fastigheter, explains that after they replaced the heating subcentrals in one of the buildings with good results, they decided to implement the same solution in the other buildings facing similar issues.
– Initially, the results were promising: the hot water temperature increased, and the Legionella levels decreased. However, the bacteria eventually returned, Hans reports.
Simply raising the temperature proved insufficient
Hans received a tip about Anolytech’s solution from an independent consultant and chose to reach out.
– When we realized that changing the heating subcentrals was not enough, we contacted Anolytech. We chose to install four machines, one in each building, and it has worked incredibly well, and we have achieved the desired result, Hans explains.
After the installation of Anolytech’s system, the Legionella bacteria were eliminated, thereby allowing Lindbäcks Fastigheter to offer its tenants a safer living environment.
Hans says he is positive about the implemented solution and would recommend Anolytech to other property owners facing similar challenges.
Lindbäcks Fastigheter continues with regular testing of the water to monitor and ensure high water quality in its properties.
